Sharing, Repetitions and more

Focused 1.5 brings a few new features, like repeating tasks and a share extension. Just a couple more updates and I’ll have all the basics checked off. I think this is called over on the socials.

It also brings some custom UI, especially to the iPhone version, so it starts to feel a little less like My First SwiftUI App™. All in all it’s slowing starting to feel like a real app now.

Share Extension

The new share extension allows you to create tasks directly from any other app through the share sheet. It also uses the new paginated layout for creating tasks.

It’s split into a general task page, a scheduling page, repetitions and a full page for notes, which can be swiped between.

Repeating Tasks

Planned tasks can now automatically repeat after a given number of days/weeks/months/years.

This still respects the task limits, and unless the “can defer” option is disabled, the new copy of the task will be created on the first day that isn’t already at the limit, after the given interval.

Compact Sidebar

One of the bigger layout changes is the new compact sidebar on iPhone. It’s a small, persistent list of your projects, allowing you not only to quickly switch between views, but also to use drag and drop to reassign tasks on your phone, just like you would on iPad or Mac.
